HOW DO PROS SELL THEIR TESTS?

Pros purchase the programmable version of Pocket Pro from Bumper Boy. This allows Pros to develop any custom application using audio, visual, animation, and written text. Tests can be sold as singles or as group packages.

Once completing the tests in Pocket Pro, the "Publish" feature is used to publish to both their existing clients and new clients. The published tests are uploaded to the Bumper Boy website where it is then advertised under the Pro's or Kennel name. This can also be linked to the Pro's own website.

Once on the site, the training products are priced by the Pro. Clients can then sign in and download any of the Pro's training products. The pricing for the Pro is $399 for the full Pocket Pro program which includes video development software, publishing engine, distribution engine, e-commerce, on-line visa processing, and a Pro website.

Bumper Boy's e-commerce system processes the client's request and downloads the training products or sends out CD copies. At the same time, it performs all of the calculations and deposits the revenues in the Pro's or partners accounts. Bumper Boy calculates its fee for the software and e-commerce processing. The fee works out to approximately 40% of the retail sales amount.

 

WHAT ARE CLIENTS WILLING TO PAY FOR THIS KNOWLEDGE?

Marketing surveys show that clients are willing to pay anywhere between $15 to $25 for a "problem fix". More comprehensive programs like Marking can be sold from $175 to $300, depending on the number tests and the depth of detail. Complete programs with hundreds of tests and corrections can be sold in the $400 range.

Training such as obedience or hunt training may sell between $100 and $150.

HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE TO LEARN?

Pocket Pro has been developed for the dog trainer. Basic computer skills are helpful, but not necessary. Complex tests can be developed in 4 to 8 minutes. Easier drills like a "Double T" can be developed in less than a minute.

 

WHY DO CLIENTS LIKE THIS WAY OF LEARNING?

Clients can learn at their own pace and get into as much detail as they wish. Pocket Pro is both interesting and interactive and they can browse through several tests in a short amount of time.
