Design Concept
The fit of a remote dog training collar is key to its correct performace. If a dog training collar slides, moves too much or is not tightened properly, the terminals will not make proper skin contact. When this happens it’s called an open circuit condition. This reduces the level of stimulation or no stimulation occurs. Conventional collars exert 100 percent of the tighten pressure on the terminals. However, the surface area of the terminals is less than 1/8” in diameter. With this small surface area, even though the pressure is great, the collar can slide and move and terminal contact can be lost. Additionally this amount of point pressure causes skin abrasion.

The TT series is designed so that the pressure is exerted between the dog training collar body and the dog’s neck muscles. This allows the contact surface area to be increased which allows better tightening and less movement of the remote dog training collar. Terminal contact is achieved by allowing the skin of the dog to wrap around the terminals in the pocket area of the collar. This technique reduces open contact conditions.
Dog comfort is equally important when designing a remote dog training collar. Skin irritation or tearing is reduced because the pressure is spread out over the collar body not just on a 1/8” diameter contact. This reduces point pressure and reduces movement, which causes less skin irritation.
